Diane Menio is the executive director of CARIE, the Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly. She has been associated with CARIE for 20 years, 14 as director. During that time she has worked to develop new programs, establish a National Advisory Board and build its volunteer complement to more than 100. The organization is respected locally, statewide and nationally as a crucial advocate for seniors. Menio has trained extensively in the detection and prevention of abuse in the home as well as in institutional settings and other issues affecting the frail elderly. She received a Master of Science in Gerontology from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She serves on the Governor’s Intra-Governmental Council on Long Term Care, the Department of Public Welfare’s Stakeholder Planning Team, the Assisted Living Workgroup, and the Senior Citizen’s Committee of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. In 2007 Menio received the Advocate of the Year Award from the SeniorLAW Center, and in 2009 she was the recipient of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Champion for Health Impact Award.
Also Married 1989 (together since 1984) and have beautiful daughter.
