Lester Snyder Obituary

Lester P. "Butch" Snyder, Sr., 69, of Moore Township, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg, after being stricken at home. He was the husband of Jane A. (McCandless) Snyder to whom he was married 49½ years.

Butch, as he was affectionately known, was born in Allentown to the late Lester H. and MaryAnn (Antonition) Snyder, and was a graduate Northampton High School, Class of 1973. Truck driving, which was his passion, began at the early age of 19 and continued for several decades where Butch was an independent driver/owner as well as working for other trucking companies, before retiring. He was also known as a collector of guns, cars, and especially snowmobiles, which he loved to drive at home and in upstate New York. Throughout the years, Butch and Jane enjoyed traveling with their camper and were avid NASCAR fans.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Jane, he will be dearly missed by his children, Lester P. Snyder, Jr. of Moore Township, Jaime M. Dieter and partner, Thomas Menio, Jr., of Moore Township, and Mandy J. Pasquariello of Lehigh Township; eight grandchildren, Micayla, Austin and wife, Brittany, Jonathan, Isaac, Nicholas, Christopher, Isaiah, and Angelina; and two great-granddaughters, Elliana Jane and Isabella Mae, who he absolutely adored. Butch is also survived by two brothers, Paul M. Snyder and wife, Gail, of Wind Gap, and Mark A. Snyder of Weissport; along with nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a brother, Peter S. Snyder; and two sisters, Mary R. Hahn and Kathy L. Kunkle.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be private.
